Introducing Ann Hawkins, author of the book “New Business: Next Steps” and founder of The Inspired Group. Ann is a well known and respected business mentor and coach who has lived in Cambridge UK for the last 30 years.
“When I hear about a small business that has had to close I get very sad because it usually means the end of somebody’s hopes and dreams.
With the right help, most businesses could be turned into thriving, profitable enterprises and so, for the last ten years, I’ve been testing and refining a way to make that possible and make that help easily available to more business owners.
The question I get asked most often is:
How do you get your business to the point where you can secure your future without working 24/7?
The people I’ve worked with personally have achieved great results and so, because more and more people want to be coached and mentored in the skills that produce these results, I’ve designed this on-line programme.
My generous and talented friend, Jon Buscall of Moondog Marketing, has helped me to create a way to deliver the lessons so that we can help more people to achieve their dream of running a business that fulfils them personally and financially.
I’ve always been fascinated by what makes people tick and how this can sometimes work against them in the very practical world of business and I use my background in psychology, statistics and economics to help business owners to find a way to create practical, actionable plans to transform their own future.
I’ve been writing for business owners on my blog www.annhawkins.com for over ten years and my book “New Business: Next Steps”, published by Pearson in January 2015 is based on this accumulated knowledge.
Business owners are generous in their support of other business owners and this is why, in 2005, I founded The Inspired Group – a collaborative learning organisation for business owners. It’s a source of great pleasure that many of the original members are still actively supporting each other and have become trusted friends.
My broadcasting experience started with The Business Hub radio show which I helped to found and present in 2010. It grew to over 30,000 weekly listeners and enabled me to create The A-Z of Business Success – a weekly series of 26 interviews that has been subscribed to by hundreds of business owners.
Having experienced first hand the power of audio and its ability to make strong connections with listeners from all over the world, I started The Social Media Show podcast in February 2013. I also used Google Hangouts and more recently, Blab, to interview inspiring entrepreneurs and these can see seen on my YouTube channel.
It’s an insatiable curiosity that makes me want to continue to learn, and share that learning with others. You only need to follow me on Twitter for a very short while to realise that I have a very irreverent sense of humour, I’m egalitarian and will usually be listening to jazz. Come and join me there and say hello!”
- “Ann has been a true source of inspiration for me. Not only is she great company, being a lady with a lovely sense of humour, she also has the ability to quickly understand a variety of different business models offering timely advice that is clear, concise and very, very sensible.” Yasmin Chopin, Interior Designer
- “Everything that Ann is involved in is very well planned. She has helped me to see what I needed in order to make my business more efficient and I have no hesitation in recommending her.” Eric S Britt, Integrity Wills
